The gospel is the most important belief we hold because it is the news of what God has done to accomplish salvation through Jesus Christ in history. The gospel is not just what we know and believe but what we live out and share. THE GOSPEL IS GOOD NEWS THAT IS BOTH DEEP AND WIDE
We believe the gospel is good news to all who repent and believe (Mark 1:15). We also believe that when this news is applied in the heart of a regenerated believer, it changes both their behaviors and their beliefs (Romans 8:1-11, Colossians 3:1-17). Because of this affect, brought by the Holy Spirit, we believe the gospel is both deep and wide. It is not only the good news of who and what Jesus has done; it is also the news that changes who you follow and what you do (in the Christian life). *(See Gospel Guide for list).
Redeemer can be described as orthodox, evangelical, reformed, and baptist. We are a non-denominational Christian church with a Reformed Baptist eldership that holds to historic theology and practice. If we have to say more, then:
- We are first Christian (WE LOVE JESUS)
- We are second Evangelical (WE PREACH JESUS)
- We are third Missional (WE LIVE LIKE JESUS)
- We are fourth Reformed (JESUS GETS THE CREDIT FOR EVERYTHING)
CONFESSION OF FAITH
Our confession of faith is the Second London Baptist Confession (1689). *Members are not required to fully subscribe to this confession. They are only required to submit to the elders who teach and preach what is biblical and true, and can be found in this historic confession of faith.
We are unapologetically committed to the truth of Scripture and expository preaching which leads us to a commitment of treating every person with grace because that is how Christ has treated us.
